NACOL is governed as a 501(c)(3) organization by organizationally approved bylaws.
Online Communication Services Policy
NACOL does not endorse the opinions expressed in any online communications vehicles that are part of the NACOL website, such as listservs, chat rooms, or discussion boards. All comments made in such contexts are solely those of the participants and are not endorsed or in any way attributable to NACOL. The NACOL Online Communication Services Policy shall be posted at key strategic places on the NACOL website.
Posting of Logos
Individual organization logos represent members, partners, or affiliated organizations with NACOL and that the posting of logos is intended as recognition of the support of the goals and objectives of NACOL, but does not represent an endorsement by NACOL of any products, services, or opinions of members or organizations.

These Terms and Conditions of Use constitute the contractual agreement between you and NACOL regarding the use of our Site and any activities or transactions you may conduct through this Site. Your use of our Site constitutes your agreement to abide by these Terms and Conditions. This Information Practice contains our commitment to you concerning your privacy and how NACOL may use information you provide.
Information We Collect
Information collected is used for membership and demographic purposes. It is collected in multiple forms that include online forms, email, or other communications. Additional information is collected using standard Internet log information collected by all websites. The log information includes host system, time and duration of visits to our pages. No personally identifiable information is collected in this process. Information collected by the Internet log is combined with all other visits to create traffic statistics. This information is used to evaluate overall traffic levels and trends affecting our website.
How We Use Information
All information collected is confidential and remains within NACOL. NACOL will not share, sell or trade any personal information. Information, including our web statistics, is not generally made available to any third party sources. Any information that becomes published will be on an aggregated, non-identifying basis. Personal information that can be used to identify or contact you, such as your name, email address or mailing address will not be made available to any third party group. Third parties are defined as those who are not directly involved in the maintenance or running of our web site and who are not program or information managers of NACOL. We assume that members are interested in relating to distance education and online initiatives. Therefore, as a member we will provide third party information on products, services, and research that we feel have value to NACOL’s membership.
Members may request to view and edit their personal information by contacting NACOL.
Each of our employees, Board of Directors, and authorized members consent to this policy, and only authorized employees have access to our visitor’s and member’s personal information.

Limitations on use of Personal Information
Personal information is used strictly for the purposes provided. For example, information provided and intended for posting on NACOL’s web site may include personal contact information such as email, mailing address or phone numbers. Under these conditions, we will post that information on our web site in accordance with NACOL policy.

Unless specifically identified, NACOL’s logo and all tangible content that includes graphics, pictures, text, audio and video clips and other content are copyrighted and are the exclusive property of NACOL. Materials may be copied or downloaded provided that all restrictions noted for that material are complied with and that notices of copyrights and/or proprietary notices are included. Ownership and rights to material copied or downloaded are not transferable to the user and remain the sole property of NACOL.
Control of Content of User-Posted Information
All information provided by users that include emails, posting to listservs and forums shall be the property of NACOL. NACOL may use any materials provided within the limitations of the Fair Information Practice policies without restriction or compensation.
Users may not post materials, information, or solicitations that might be considered as “SPAM.” NACOL is not responsible for any liability resulting from content posted in user forums or content pages. NACOL reserves the right to deny access privileges to users who fail to comply with the terms of this agreement.

NACOL does not have control of content, accuracy, or copyrights to sites that are linked outside of the NACOL web site. We do not endorse, recommend, or authenticate the accuracy of information at linked sites.
